New Ventures is a collaborative project between cat•er•waul and composers that are in some way associated with the group or have research aims in line with the performers.
Each of the pieces will come out of a collaboration process through workshops, and the concert will include a number of composers from York (Edward Caine, Chris Leedham, Desmond Clarke, Dimitris Maronidis and Li Cheong) and composers from surrouding northern cities (Lauren Redhead - Leeds, Philip Rayner - Huddersfield, and Gareth Churchill - Manchester). In all there will be eight world premieres by young up-and-coming composers. Come and challenge yourself with some new music!
